You’re Invited

You’re Invited is a contemporary dance theater work set at a surreal birthday party, exploring belonging, self-consciousness, and connection. Developed through writing exercises with the young performers, the work draws directly from their own thoughts and experiences of parties, friendship, inclusion, and feeling like an outsider. While some participate freely and others hover at the edges, the party becomes a place to examine what it means to want to belong, to make others feel welcome, and to finally accept that you are invited.
